Asamoah makes injury comeback in Juventus win

The 26-year-old utility man played 69 minutes in Friday night’s league triumph to his coach’s delight after spending time in the treatment room
Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah made an injury return on Friday night as Juventus picked a 2-0 victory at Lazio in the Italian Serie A.
The match at the Stadio Olimpico was the playmaker’s third league game of the 2015-16 campaign.
Asamoah was named in coach Massimiliano Allegri’s starting XI for the game, starting in midfield alongside Claudio Marchisio and Stefano Sturaro. He lasted until the 69th minute when he made way for Juan Cuadrado.
Unregistered for the Uefa Champions League group stage, Asamoah is expected to sit out the Old Lady’s clash with Sevilla on Tuesday, only returning for their next Seria A clash with Fiorentina on December 13.
“Today was Kwadwo Asamoah’s first start of the season and I am very happy with his performance,” Allegri told Mediaset Premium.
“He’s got great technique and passing ability. He deserved this night after so many injury problems
.
“He’s out of the Champions League squad so can rest for 10 days to be ready for the game against Fiorentina.”
The former Udinese player had been out of action since October after suffering a muscle sprain in his side’s 2-0 win over Atalanta.
Having had a surgery to correct a troublesome knee problem in December, Asamoah played his first game of the season in a 3-1 win over Bologna on October 4 before the Atalanta setback.
He consequently missed Ghana’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying double-header with Comoros in Novembe
