Black Stars vice-captain Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew is set to continue his
English Football career under the managerial guidance of Brendan Rogers.
The Swansea City attacking midfielder has been one of the brightest
spots in the beleaguered Welsh outfit that is on the verge of parting
ways with current manager Garry Monk.
Swansea City managed one win the last 13 matches to spark rumours of
Garry Monk’s departure and a possible return to the liberty stadium for
Brendan Rogers.
Andre Ayew managed an impressive 6 league strikes in the opening 14
fixtures for Swansea City despite their recent slump in form. The former
Olympique Marseilles man could however not prevent his club from the
downwards spiral to fuel a possible return for the former Liverpool
trainer.
Garry Monk’s tenure at the Liberty reached an all-time low with a heavy
home defeat to the division’s most inform club, Leicester City, in a 0-3
home reverse.
Brendan Rogers qualified Swansea to the Premiership at the start of the
2012/13 season before heading to Anfield after a spectacular debut
campaign. The northern Irishman is a noted fan of Andre Ayew even in his
days at Anfield and a return to the Liberty Stadium can only be good
news for the high-flying Ghana international.
“With a bumper new television deal kicking in at the premier league next
season, Swansea City owners are desperate to avoid relegation.
Although axing Monk would not come cheap ($3 million) City Owners
Jenkins and Co will consider it money well spent if a change at the top
ensures they avoid relegation”, South Wales evening post reports.
Swansea City currently occupies the 15th place in the Premiership with
14 points to their name after a promising start to the campaign.
Andre joined Swansea from Marseilles in a free transfer and has won many
individual trophies highlighted by his August Premier league player of
the month award.
